About Me

Mother of 4 (3 living adult children, one lost in infancy), midwife turned nurse turned caregiver turned widow. Raised by divorced parents humanist/feminist, began “running” after multiple family deaths at 18, experienced a spiritual awakening at 23, in and out of different traditions (primarily Christian/Buddhist) continue on the path with life (and right now my dog) as my greatest teachers.

I was originally an English major, now love reading all things spiritual/psychological, but have no “favorite quote” other than this (approximation) that always sticks with me from my mother’s journal: “As for my aloneness, let me attempt to face it. It may not be as bad as it seems when my back is turned and I’m running away”. I try to remember that my “aloneness” is an opportunity for growth and connection.
