About Me
Hi! I'm Lisa, and I live in Brevard with my three whippets, Sylvie, Jaxson and Mirabelle. I've been a Truth-lover for many years. Lately, my path has directed me to read the ecstatic poets - mainly Hafiz, but others as well (Francis of Assisi, Rumi, Rabia, Teresa of Avila, St. John of the Cross, etc.). I find it amazing how their love/spiritual energy transcends time and space, somehow lodging in between the words of their poetry. Below is a poem I wrote recently that sort of describes this leg of my journey with the ecstatic (or "drunken") ones I love so much.
Beloved,
I long to be a drunken one,
To stagger ragged
Through the jeweled streets of your Heart,
As Francis danced through summer fields
Drenched and wringing out
Your Love;
As Hafiz sat on the moon
Shouting your name
Across the empty sky
Rousing the sleepy ones
From their dreams;
As Rabia kissed your lips
So sweetly and with such abandon
That you stayed forever,
Claiming her heart as your own.
O Beloved,
This longing I feel is your Grace
And these tears, your wine.
Fill this cup
Until it is empty of
Everything
But
You.

"All I know is Love,
And I find my heart Infinite
And everywhere."

"Sometimes a poem happens like this one:
The mule I sit on while I recite
Starts off in one direction
But then gets drunk
And lost in
Heaven."

"Such Love does the sky now pour
That whenever I stand in a field,
I have to wring out the Light
When I get home."

"One day He did not leave
After kissing me."
