In a supportive group setting, we will practice and explore the path of mindfulness for health, wellness, recovery, and freedom from suffering. Beginners and experienced mindfulness practitioners are welcome to participate in this guided day retreat, which will incorporate seated and gentle mindful movement practices, self-compassion training, deep relaxation, discussion, and education. No prior experience with mindfulness meditation is required.
A $60 donation is requested. Please bring drinking water and a brown bag lunch.

Eddie LeShure has lived and practiced in several Buddhist meditation centers over the last 30 years, having participated in dozens of retreats. This has given him an in-depth knowledge and respect for the healing effects of meditation and compassion practices. Among his numerous teachers is Kevin Griffin, author of “One Breath at a Time – Buddhism and the 12 Steps”, and Eddie has been active in 12-Step Recovery for many years. He is also a trained Family Support Group Facilitator for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), and has decades of experience guiding groups of various types and sizes.
Larry Cammarata, Ph.D. is a local clinical psychologist who specializes in mindfulness-oriented therapy and education. He has been a practitioner of mindfulness meditation for over 20 years, and is a member of the leadership council of Cloud Cottage, a mindfulness practice community in the tradition of Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh. His work on mindful movement has been presented at the 11th Annual International Scientific Conference of the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine. Larry is also an advanced instructor of Taijiquan (Tai Chi) and Qigong who teaches weekly Qigong and Tai Chi classes in Asheville.
