Join Susan and Miriam at Miriam's home in East Asheville for an evening of honoring the Deepam festival. This holiday dates back to 200 BC in south India and is associated with Arunachala, the "holy fire hill".  It culminates each year with a lighting of a huge flame on top of the mountain fueled by ghee and butter. Arunachala is considered the physical manifestation of Shiva and was the "guru" of  Ramana Maharshi. We will enjoy about 45 minutes of social time with dessert and herbal chai, followed by about 15 minutes of sharing a few  favorite quotes of Ramana Maharshi and then about 40 minutes of silent sitting. We will hold the silence after the sit and leave in silence. All are warmly welcomed. Please RSVP by December 6th with either a call to Miriam at 298-7882 or an email at miriamhard@aol.com
