Explore the fascinating relationship between food, healing, and the natural world in this experiential class rooted in traditional healing systems from Africa, China, Greece, India, and beyond. Discover how plants and fungi have nourished and supported human health across cultures and generations, and learn about the compounds and properties that make certain foods especially valuable, from antioxidant-rich plants and digestive bitters to adaptogens and other celebrated superfoods.
The experience begins with an engaging presentation featuring stories of how humans and the plant and fungal worlds have intertwined throughout history. Along the way, you'll sample nourishing foods inspired by the principles of food as medicine, including wild greens pesto, probiotic bean dip, and bliss bites.
After the presentation, we'll head outdoors for a garden walk exploring plant families, patterns, and relationships, followed by a honey tasting.
Come ready to explore, taste, and deepen your connection to the healing potential of the natural world.
