Q: What do you get when you combine the experience of dynamic conversation, music, and the healing arts? 

  • The first Healing HeArts Festival, a six-day event fostering personal and community wellbeing on the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Helene. The festival starts Saturday, Sept. 20 and runs through Thursday, Sept. 25 at White Horse Black Mountain, 105 Montreat Rd., Black Mountain, N.C.

Q: What is the purpose of this festival?

  • The Healing HeArts Festival is meant to bring community members together and support them in their individual and collective journeys of recovery from Helene. We provide this support in tangible ways by offering: 
  • Healing arts presentations, panel discussions, and hands-on services to community members 
  • A variety of food, music, arts ,and crafts managed by an outstanding team of volunteers

Q: Is there a connection between the Healing HeArts Festival and the Black Mountain Blues Festival?

  • Yes, the Healing HeArts Festival is intended to “set the stage” for the 2nd Annual Black Mountain Blues Festival, a 3-day event featuring renowned musicians and education on the history and healing power of the blues.
  • The Blues Festival kicks off Friday, Sept 26 and runs through Sunday, Sept. 28 at several venues in downtown Black Mountain .
  • In keeping with the White Horse’s commitment to making music and events accessible to everyone, performances on the Main Stage at Town Square are offered for free.
  • The Blues Festival is organized and sponsored by the Black Mountain Blues Society in concert with the White Horse, which has been a hub for gathering, grounding, and serving the community since Hurricane Helene.
