Jackie & aLex lead this 3-night silent retreat which is structured with periods of meditation (guided and silent), yoga, qi gong, Feldenkrais-inspired movement, and energy work. You will have abundant time for exploring, walking and taking in the surrounding natural beauty; as well as plenty of time for reading, resting and journaling. The aim of the retreat is for you to discover how richly rewarding your experience in silence can be. Allow yourself to release tensions and limitations and open to your presence.

About the teachers:

Jackie Shaffer leads meditation groups, meditation retreats and workshops at Sun & Moon Yoga Studio in northern Virginia. She began meditation in 1970, which in time, led her to the practice of hatha yoga. Jackie has taught yoga for more than 17 years. Her approach is nurtured by numerous insightful and awakened teachers, among them Erich Schiffmann, Sally Kempton, Adyashanti and Mukti. Jackie’s reverence toward the mystery of life itself is her foundation. At Sun and Moon, Jackie mentors teachers within the In-Depth Program. Her yoga is enriched by practices of Feldenkrais, energy medicine and qi gong. Building on a love of science and her practice of art making, Jackie’s recent workshops include Yoga for Your Brain, and Color Meditation: Painting for Yogis..

aLex Levin teaches yoga, and mentors students along their paths as she coordinates the teacher training program at Sun & Moon Yoga Studio in Northern Virginia. Ever orienting toward freedom, joy, and ease in everyday being, she’s inspired by teachers who point to the totality and immediacy of our direct experience including Adyashanti, Erich Schiffmann, Byron Katie, Rupert Spira, Mooji, Sharon Landrith, Madeline Helbraun, and Paul Hedderman. Sharing yoga since 1998 and currently folding in Yin Yoga and Feldenkrais principles, she invites us to look and discover for ourselves that what we seek might already be available: through relaxed curiosity in our actual and multi-sensory experience at this moment, through skillfully asking what we need to know, and in willingly receiving what answers come.
