You don't have to be a writer to participate in this joyful and meditative experience, and writers in all genres of writing are welcome, especially those whose writing has 'stalled' for one reason or another, or who are currently working on a writing project and would benefit from a gentle yet direct enthusiasm transfusion...

Held in beautiful contemplative natural surroundings, with a hillside of woods and a small koi pond, this Writing from the Heart gathering will focus on the questions, 'What If?'

What If

...I allow my inner voice to speak through me and share what it has always wanted to say?

...I can trust my creativity and be unafraid of expressing myself?

...I can commit myself to Writing Practice as a personal vehicle for deeper reflection and spiritual growth?

Aile Shebar, also known as Amana, was mentored in Writing Practice by Natalie Goldberg (Writing Down the Bones)... and has been writing her whole life and teaching for more than 15 years. She was encouraged by H.W.L. Poonja (Papaji) to share her writing skills in the world in service to Truth. She developed her own process using Buddhist guidelines, such as those from Thich Nhat Hanh, meditative techniques from contemporary non-dual teachers and the mystics, and offers quotes from poets, pundits, writing shamans & gurus, as well as the authentic voices of 'Now', to inspire and elevate Writing as a Practice.

She gently guides us into exploring our hearts' expressiveness, encouraging freedom for our inner voices,  while maintaining a safe container in which participants may share their writing aloud, should they wish to.

Aile is a published author & poet, creative writing coach & compassionate editor. (See Aile's poem "Everything I Know About Dying" in July's 'Miracles and Magic' edition of WNC Woman magazine.)

  • Thanks for letting me know, Bob. I just posted on FB that we are full and at this late date I will trust that everyone who comes is meant to me there. I do these groups rarely in Asheville, but have a sweet following here, and always love to include those who have never written with me before. It is often a life-changing experience for those who attend. Of course, I totally understand the situation and wish you a good week of work. Every blessing! Amana
  • Amana Aile, I'm sorry/glad to say that I have an opportunity to pick up some work down in Winston-Salem which starts tomorrow, Fri. and will run through the weekend 'til done, maybe a week. Inasmuch as I am a struggling artist, I find that though I'd love to join you this weekend, I must chase the Yankee dolla'. I hope you will have another workshop and that I'll be able to take advantage of it at that time.

    Peace, Bob

  • As of today, August 17, this workshop is full. If you are still interested in joining us let me know and I can put your name on a waiting list. Cancellations are not uncommon, so there is a good likelihood we can make room for you. Let us know!
