EVOLUTION’S MOMENTUM

Vulnerable or Machismo?© 2009 Howard McQueenTo be vulnerableis to be yielding, unprovokedunwilling to interfere (enter the fear of or for another). To not take the bait, fail to validate, not even mimicthe mainstreamhabitual machismos:- putting on armor or weaponry- hardening the heart- becoming distant from our natural vulnerabilitiesSome may call this dispassionate or disengaged, hurl the names, sissy, cry baby, or downright spineless coward. These some are always looking to provoke a reaction,to join the crowd, cast the first stone, become a lynching mob.A growing few are restingin the deep seated-ness of peace,no longer troubled by the accumulatedanxious and aggressive energiesbeing reflected and projected around in the world.Beneath this surface nose and agonyis the subtler ecstasyof evolution’s momentum, the constant cycle of birthing, living and dying. In the service of evolution, everything is used, nothing is wasted.
