We are constantly encouraged
to live a life
punctuated by distraction.
Perpetually distracted,
we slip-slide toward a life
devoted to the delusional,
constantly avoiding our discomforts,
constantly empowering our choices,
with preferences that attempt to preserve
a secure sense-of-self.
And, we convince ourselves
that this insular
navigation-via-avoidance
will bring about the vitality
of a life well-lived.
We spin our own webs,
disoriented by this maze of our delusion,
till we realize a life lived in programmed avoidance,
cultivates and perpetuates separation, fear and anxiety,
damping down the flow of life,
stifling the essential cycle of fire - destruction - rebirth,
so essential to our inner growth and evolution.
